Frank R. Acuña is the Managing Partner of Kimball, Tirey & St. John, LLP’s,
Northern California Business and Real Estate Group. He represents individuals
and businesses throughout the State of California and his practice emphasizes
estate planning, probate, and trust administration; business and real estate
transactions; and estate and capital gains tax planning. Mr. Acuña has built is
practice on the needs of tax professionals and, over the past 25 years, he has
presented courses to the California Society of Enrolled Agents, the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Nevada Society of Enrolled
Agents, and the California Society of Tax Consultants. He has also served as
Adjunct Faculty at St. Mary’s College of California and a Lecturer for the
National Tax Education Institute. Mr. Acuña received a Bachelor of Arts
degree from Loyola Marymount University in Religious Studies and a Juris
Doctorate from the U.C.L.A. School of Law, where he was a Teaching Assistant
in the law school’s Legal Research & Writing Program. He is admitted to
practice in California and New York, as well as in various federal courts.

Karen Brosi is an Enrolled Agent and Certified Financial Planner practicing in Palo Alto, California. A native Californian, Ms. Brosi completed her undergraduate education at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a major in Mathematics. She is a Past President of the Golden Gate Chapter of CSEA, and has served as a Director, committee chair and Officer of the Society. In her practice, Ms. Brosi advises clients in individual tax and family wealth planning, specializing in complex individual income tax matters and all types of securities transactions. She has written articles on various tax and financial planning topics and is an authority on California tax law. Ms. Brosi speaks across the country for state and local Enrolled Agent groups and CPA societies, and for Western CPE. She is a favorite with the print media and is often quoted, most notably in a recent issue of Business Week.

Hugh G. Graham was formerly the client finance administrator for Adler & Colvin, a law firm committed to serving the legal needs of the nonprofit sector, where he worked with the firm's nonprofit clients on tax and finance issues. His areas of expertise include Form 990 annual returns, public support test calculations, corporate and legal compliance reporting, and charitable remainder trust accounting. Prior to focusing on nonprofit tax issues, Mr. Graham spent 10 years working in international development and grant-making organizations. He received his BA in Russian studies from Bowdoin College, and a Master of Nonprofit Administration degree with an emphasis in accounting from the University of San Francisco. Mr. Graham has taught other workshops on the redesigned Form 990 for CompassPoint Nonprofit Services, the California Association of Nonprofits, and Lorman Education Services.

Claudia Hill is an Enrolled Agent, nationally recognized tax professional and frequent lecturer on taxation of individuals, tax planning and representation before the IRS. She is a frequent contributor to and Editor-in-Chief of the CCH, Inc. Journal of Tax Practice & Procedure. Ms. Hill is owner and principal of Tax Mam, Inc. and TMI Tax Services Group, Inc. in Cupertino, CA. TMI Tax Services Group provides preparation, planning and controversy representation services primarily to individual clients. She acts as a resource person for tax topics to various news media including Dow, Hearst and Forbes publications. Ms. Hill has testified before Congressional committees numerous times. She is a Fellow and former Dean of the NAEA-EF National Tax Practice Institute. After several years as Chair, Ms. Hill is now a special advisor to the Government Relations Committee for NAEA. She is an Associate member of the ABA Tax Section and a Lifetime member of the American Tax Policy Institute. Ms. Hill holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, earned with honors. She has presented at every CSEA Super Seminar held, over a decade of IRS Nationwide Tax Forums, numerous state and local EA organizations and recently has become a frequent presenter with CCH Audio Seminars.

Kevin C. Huston, EA, is the president of Blue Ridge Tax Advisors Inc., a tax, representation, and wealth-management firm in Asheville, North Carolina. He received his BS degree in Business Management from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and his MBA in International Business from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Mr. Huston earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Life Underwriter (CLU) designations from The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He is a Graduate Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute of the National Association of Enrolled Agents. Mr. Huston is a co-moderator of Intuit’s TaxAlmanac.org’s tax discussion forum. He has been a nationally known tax instructor for several years, and has authored several tax and financial articles for professional journals including the NAEA EA Journal.

Sharon Kreider is a practicing Certified Public Accountant and Enrolled Agent in Silicon Valley. She deals on a day-to-day basis with the tax problems and strategies of small businesses in a variety of entity formats. Ms. Kreider graduated from San Jose State University and started her career in the examination division of the IRS. She has been in public accounting for more than 25 years. Ms. Kreider is a frequent featured speaker to business and professional groups and is nationally known as one of the top speakers in the tax field. She has been a keynote speaker for the AICPA conference on Tax Planning For The High Income Individual for 2007, 2008 and 2009. Ms. Kreider is a regular contributor to threetaxtopics.com and to Western CPE’s eTax Alerts. Sharon has been named by CPA Magazine as one of the Top 40 Tax Professionals To Know In A Recession. Ms. Kreider served on a merger task force in her community to combine two large not for profit organizations. She is now serving as the first treasurer and finance chair of the new combined multi-million dollar charity.

Robert E. McKenzie is a Partner of the law firm of Arnstein & Lehr LLP of Chicago, Illinois, concentrating his practice in representation before the Internal Revenue Service and state tax agencies. He has lectured extensively on the subject of taxation. He has presented courses before thousands of CPA's, attorneys and Enrolled Agents nationwide. He has made numerous media appearances including Dateline NBC and The ABC Nightly News. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. McKenzie was employed by the Internal Revenue Service, Collection Division, in Chicago, Illinois from 1972 to 1978. He currently serves as a member of the IRS Advisory Council (IRSAC) which is a group appointed by the IRS Commissioner to provide advice to him and his management team. Mr. McKenzie is the author of Representation Before the Collection Division of the IRS and coauthor Representing the Audited Taxpayer Before the IRS and Representation Before the United States Tax Court. Mr. McKenzie has received an AV rating from Martindale and Hubbell and has been selected for listing by Law and Leading Attorneys where he served on its Advisory Board. He has been elected to the American College of Tax Counsel. Mr. McKenzie received his J.D. with High Honors from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago Kent College of Law.

Vicki Mulak is an Enrolled Agent and a Certified Financial Planner. She is insurance and securities licensed. Ms. Mulak is the owner of American Financial and Tax, a tax preparation, planning and representation firm, which was founded in Tustin, CA 24 years ago, when she became both a resident and a business owner. Ms. Mulak assists small businesses and individuals in a variety of tax and financial matters. She regularly speaks on California tax law and other tax-related business topics to such groups as the California Society of Tax Consultants, National Association of Tax Professionals, and the Financial Planning Association. In 2006, she was the recipient of CSEA’s prestigious “Thomas P. Hess Award” in recognition of her contributions to the fulfillment of the educational goals of CSEA. Ms. Mulak appeared in December 2004 on the IRS’ web cast Tax Talk Today. She remains active with Practitioner Publishing Company, serving as an editor for the Accounting Quickfinder book. Ms. Mulak received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Thomas Edison State College in Camden, New Jersey.

Alan Pinck is an Enrolled Agent with over 20 years of tax preparation experience in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has built a practice specializing in individual, small business tax preparation and audit representation. Having represented hundreds of returns in audit Alan has obtained tremendous insight of the audit process as well as tax knowledge on a wide variety of tax issues. His volunteering for S.C.O.R.E for over 15 years speaking on topics of business tax and record keeping, has given him an opportunity to help many new businesses get started and ongoing businesses with issues and planning for future growth. Although new to the Super Seminar stage Alan has presented to a variety of tax and business organizations for many years. His real world approach and stories bring his sessions to life!

Renée Rodda is editor of Spidell’s California Taxletter® and associate editor of Spidell’s Elder Client Planner newsletter. She lectures extensively on tax issues that impact Californians and aging Americans. Ms. Rodda has authored “Overview of Medicare and Medicaid/Medi-Cal Rules,” as well as self-study courses, including an EA ethics course. She is a graduate of Chapman School of Law with a Tax Law Emphasis.

George Van Buren earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of Redlands and an MBA from Pepperdine University. In addition to working for over 25 years as a Director of Finance for a major corporation, he has also taught graduate accounting and finance courses at the University of Redlands, University of Phoenix, and the University of California at Irvine. Mr. Van Buren is active in his community and serves on the Board of Directors of the San Pedro Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves as President of the South Bay Chapter of CSEA. Mr. Van Buren is an accomplished seminar speaker and travelled throughout the country for a number of years speaking to thousands of tax professionals for Gear Up. His tax practice, located in San Pedro, California, serves a diverse client base including individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
